Integrated Logistics Program

Marine Logistics & Supply Chain

A comprehensive program that links sea freight, ports, hinterland transport and inventory decisions into one end-to-end supply chain view.

Program Snapshot

Moves beyond “just booking containers” to show how marine logistics decisions influence cost, reliability and customer service across the full supply chain.

Ideal For
Logistics & supply chain teams
Shippers & service providers
Learning Style
Concepts, tools & mini cases
Key Outcome
Stronger, more resilient marine flows
Cost & service balance
What Participants Will Learn

The program connects classic supply chain thinking with the realities of ports, carriers, schedules and disruptions at sea.

  • Map end-to-end flows that rely on marine transport (import, export, cross-trade).
  • Understand how port, carrier and routing choices affect lead time and risk.
  • Link inventory, safety stock and service levels with shipping frequency and reliability.
  • Use basic tools to compare routing, consolidation and mode options.
  • Design playbooks for dealing with congestion, delays and schedule changes.
Who Should Attend

Suitable for mixed cohorts from shipper, carrier and logistics backgrounds to build a shared view of marine supply chains.

  • Supply chain and logistics managers.
  • Shipping / export–import coordinators.
  • Freight forwarder and 3PL key account teams.
  • Inventory, planning and procurement professionals.
  • Early-career analysts in marine logistics roles.

Curriculum Overview

Four modules that follow the logic from network design, to marine execution, to risk and performance.

1
Marine Logistics in the Supply Chain
Role of ocean transport in global networks. Comparing marine with air, road and rail in terms of cost, time and risk. Typical end-to-end flows and touchpoints: factory, port, vessel, destination, final delivery.
2
Ports, Carriers, Routes & Capacity
How port choices, carrier networks, service types and alliances shape options. Transit times, transhipment, cut-offs and hinterland links. Basics of space, allocation and capacity planning from a shipper perspective.
3
Inventory, Lead Time & Service
Linking marine lead times and variability to stock levels and customer OTIF. Simple ways to estimate safety stock and understand the impact of longer or less reliable routes. Trade-offs between consolidation, frequency and responsiveness.
4
Risk Management, Visibility & Improvement
Common marine disruption patterns (port congestion, rollover, weather, blank sailings). Role of visibility tools, exception management and playbooks. KPIs for marine supply chains and building continuous improvement loops with carriers and partners.

Schedule & Logistics

Designed as a compact program for working professionals who want practical tools, not just theory.

Typical Duration
2–3 days or modular series
Mode
Online live / in-person (on request)
Group Size
Ideal 15–30 participants
